FAQ

  • What does PWRJoule do?

PWRJoule is developing a high-efficiency, magnetic flow battery (MFB) technology designed for large-scale energy storage. Our system combines long-duration performance with a novel, non-flammable, low-degradation chemistry that supports grid resilience, electrified infrastructure, and renewable integration.

  • How is PWRJoule’s battery different from lithium-ion or flow battery systems?

Unlike lithium-ion systems, PWRJoule’s architecture eliminates fire risk, reduces degradation cycles, and allows instantaneous discharge and recharge without thermal buildup. Compared to conventional flow batteries, our design removes complex pumps and membranes, offering simpler scalability and lower lifetime costs.

  • What stage is your technology at now?

We have completed proof-of-concept (TRL 3) and demonstrated strong energy density and scalability in lab settings. We are currently targeting TRL 4-5 milestones through joint R&D and SBIR-funded pathways, with plans to prototype pre-commercial units for utility and microgrid pilots.

  • Who is this technology for?

We’re also pursuing applications for remote/microgrid environments, EV charging buffers, and resilient infrastructure projects where lithium-ion is too volatile or costly to maintain.

  • Are you currently working with any government programs?

We’re in the early stages of collaboration with agencies such as NSF, DoE, and DoD through grant and contract proposal development. We’ve also partnered with Huron Industries, a Woman-Owned Small Business with DoD contracting experience, to support SBIR and broader government opportunities.

  • How can partners or investors get involved?

We’re actively seeking strategic partners for technical collaboration, pilot sites, and federal funding alignment. Investors and government liaisons can connect with us to support prototype builds, energy research proposals, or teaming opportunities for larger-scale storage contracts.
